Log into the Partner's Portal. You will need your serial number, email address, and password. (On your first login to the Partner's Portal, your password is your serial number.) Note: The Partner's Portal is available only to Partners with active Maintenance Subscriptions.
If you have more than one RBS Server, you must upgrade each with its own serial number by logging into the Partner's Portal for each serial number.
You will be presented with a list of download links, one for each of the products you own.
If RBS server is running as a service then go to the command prompt:
C:/Program Files/RBS Server/ and type in RBS /u
This will remove RBS server from service mode.
First upgrade your RBS Server and all its plugins and utilities. There is a link for each. Just click the link and select RUN to run the upgrade.
Reboot if required.
Start RBS Server. The Server upgrade process is complete.
Applying the upgrade to the Server also upgrades the files used in the Endpoint installers.
IMPORTANT: Upgrading the Endpoint files resets their icons back to the default. If you have changed the icons inside any of the Endpoint's EXE files, you will have to recreate your Endpoint installers so your icons will be applied to the new EXE files.
NOTE: If you are using the Partner's Portal to upgrade your Endpoints, log into the Portal and compile all three version of your Endpoint software. You can do this on the Download Installers menu choice after you have compiled your Endpoints and turned ON Endpoint Upgrades (top of the page.)
MANUALLY UPGRADING THE ENDPOINTS
On the Endpoint computers, close the Endpoint software. Check Task Manager. Kill rbclient.exe and rbackup.exe if running.
Run the new Endpoint EXE file you created.
Reboot if prompted to do so.
AUTOMATICALLY UPGRADING ENDPOINTS
The RBS Web Console (Web Manager) can automatically distbute Endpoint upgrades. See the documentation for instructions.
You can use the RBSUpdate utility to automatically upgrade your clients, if you have installed and configured it. Instructions are in the RBS Serer's Help File.
