Error 11004 Client unable to contact server

Error 11004 is caused when the Endpoint software is unable to reach the Server on its command port. This error appears at the Endpoint and happens when the Endpoint tries to contact the Server.

It is often caused by a mismatch between the Endpoint's command port and the Server's. They are supposed to be identical.

The Command port is set on the Server, and burned into the Endpoint's installer before installing the Endpoint software using the Customize Endpoint feature of the Server Console. This problem can also be caused when the RBS Server is offline, and when a firewall on the Endpoint or the Server is blocking the port.

It can also be caused by a router on the Server being misconfigured. The typical cause is that there is no Port Forwarding rule set up for the Server's command port.

Error 11004 can also be caused if the Backup Server URL/IP address in the Endpoint is incorrect. Check the Connection info parameters on the Endpoint from Options-Preferences tab. Make sure the Port number, Backup server url/ip address of the server is valid. Test your RBS Server at the following link. Please read the instructions on the page before testing.
