Problem:

My RBS Server won’t start and I’m receiving at least one of the following errors:

(CODE: EXP3) License Update Failure. Contact ‘Remote Backup Systems‘.

(CODE: N101-1) Server Cannot Start.

Solution: It is recommended that you use the Repair Wizard to solve this problem.

IF THE REPAIR WIZARD SOLVES THIS PROBLEM DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THE BELOW FIX!

Is your software running as a service?

If so, first stop the Service from the services panel, and then use these following steps. If not, then just follow them now:

First, make sure that you have no instances of RBS software running on your machine. Also, go to folder options on your machine and make sure that you can view hidden files and that you uncheck “Hide Protected Operating System files.”

Navigate to the RBS Server folder in Program Files. Now, delete “rbspuid.rma” and “rbspuid0.rma”

Restart the RBS server, and give a maximum of 10 minutes to completely start the server. The manager should open instantly, but the server itself may take a few minutes to start.
