Creating Endpoint installers with the RBS Manager Console Application
The recommended way to create Endpoint installers is to use the Server's Web Console -> Custimze Endpoint Installers feature.
This article describes how to create a client installer using the RBS Manager Console Application. You can also create an Endpoint installer with more features by using the Endpoint Branding Tool on the Partner's Portal.
Select the option "Customize Endpoint Installer" from the Tools menu of the RBS Manager.
On this window you will have options like Backup Sets, Change Text, Endpoint Locks, Change Display, Backup Settings and Advanced.
Configure the settings accourding to your requirements.
Now click on the Build Endpoint Installer option.
An Endpoint Installer Options window will pop up.
On the window you will have two options
*Build Self-Extracting EXE Installer
*Build Disk-Based Installer
Build Self-Extracting EXE Installer: Click the Build Endpoint Installer button on any of the Customize Endpoint Installer screens to create your new Endpoint Installers with all the features you have set.
Build Disk-Based Installer: The disk-based installer is designed to be distributed on a CD. It copies files into a folder that you select. You can then use your CD burning software to burn the contents of that folder directly to the CD. The Client software will automatically install when the CD is inserted into a CD drive.
After choosing the necessary options click on next.
The Create Single.EXE Installer File window will pop up.
The Executable Filename: Enter the name you want to give to your Endpoint Installer EXE.
Destination Folder: Enter the location where do you want to save the Endpoint's exe file.
Exe Icon file(32x32): If you have designed the Endpoint icon manually you can use the browse option and select the icon file Or you can use the RBS server's default icon by selecting the Use Default option.
Now click on Make EXE.
