What files and applications will RBackup Back up?

RBackup backs up all files and databases on Windows platforms. Our software is application agnostic – it doesn’t target “applications,” rather, their data files. It backs up ALL files. It can back up Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, ALL open and locked files, all files that are NOT locked – in short, all files.

RBackup also backs up Full Disk Images, VMware, Hyper-V, and others - and we are adding new platforms, databases, and file types constantly.

To optimize the backup and restore of some databases, we have built in agents that handle MSSQL, Exchange, Active Directory, System State, and others.

I don’t know of any limitations on the types of files or applications that RBackup can back up and restore, other than limitations imposed by factors outside the control of RBackup, like disk space and Internet speed. For example, some files may just be too big to back up over the slow uplink speeds of some Internet connections in a reasonable amount of time. For those files, we have a “bulk load” capability that lets you do the first backup (which is typically large) using a portable USB drive. We call this function 'Copy to Disk'.

This bulk load technology was pioneered and first commercialized by RBS in the early 90's to deal with the very slow speeds of telephone modems.
