First backup is huge! Copy to Disk

If your client's initial backup is too large for an over-the-internet transfer, give our Copy to Disk feature a shot. We specifically designed this feature to make your large initial backups more simple and convenient. For this procedure, make sure to take an external USB device to your client's site. Once you're there and have the drive plugged up, open the client software.

Create your backup set and select files for backup.

If you are using the Advanced Interface: Select the menu option "Run" > "Copy to Disk".

If you are using the Simple/Standard Interface: Select the Backup Set option, and choose your backup set from the drop down. Then, select the option Run Copy-To-Disk.

The software will ask you to confirm a location for the backup. Select your external USB device. The backup will run just as it would over the internet, except it will send backups to your local disk, and the transfer times are much quicker.

When the backup is complete, take the drive to the Server and import it with the RBS Manager.

Push the Accounts button, right-click on the account you want to import, and pick the Import choice.
