How to make a backup pause at the start of a business day.

The "Attempt Window" in the Endpoint's scheduling setup screens is set by default to define the number of hours the Endpoint should attempt to connect to its Server to do backups. If it hasn't been able to connect by the end of the Attempt Window, it gives up.

You can alter this behavior to act as a throttling feature. The Endpoint software will start a backup, and then if it is not yet finished by the time the Attempt Window expires, it will pause the backup and resume during the next scheduled session. This effectively converts "Attempt Window" into a "Backup Window.

By enabling the following registry key to True, the Attempt Window will now act as an actual backup window (only for scheduled backups). When the Elapsed time of the backup session exceeds the window, it stops the backup. Set this key on the Endpoint computer (after installation)

You can also set this as part of your default custom installer by adding this registry key to the rbackup.reg file, which you will find in the folder /Program Files/RBS Server/Client (or /Program Files (x86)/RBS Server/Client.

Use a text editor like Notepad to add the key, following the formats of the other keys already in the file.

The file rbackup.reg gets compiled into all installers. So, after you edit it, rebuild your installer and all your future installers will have this as the default setting.
