Does the endpoint software need access rights to shared drives?

If the backup is to change the archive bit, as it does by default during FULL and INCREMENTAL backups, it will need permissions to write to them.

Otherwise the backup will still run as read-only so long as it has access to the TEMP folder where the workfiles are created.

You can set the Endpoint software to use "Date/Time" or "FastPick" and then it will not need access to the archive bits, and it should work OK.
