Will the software backup the operating system?

Question: Take this scenario. A client computer's hard drive running a windows based OS crashes and must be replaced. A backup was performed using your software the night before. Does the OS have to be reinstalled to restore the data or can the OS, programs and other files be restored without having to go through the OS installation process.

Answer:

If you used the Full Image Backup feature, then your backup is stored in a standard Hyper-V file with the extension VHD. You can use this file to burn the backup image to a new hard drive, or you can mount it immedately with any hypervisor. You can also boot it. It is a fully bootable, complete image of the hard drive.
