Copy to Disc Backup is Failing

Copy to Disk is used to "seed" a first full backup that is too big to do online in the amount of time required. If it fails, try this.

 

To run a copy-to-disk please follow the steps:

 

1.) Make sure the Attempt Window on the Schedule -> Backup Schedule window is set to "Unlimited".

 

2.) Make sure the schedule is set to "On Demand" for all the available backup sets (Including the current backupset).

 

3.) Close the Rbackup Endpoint completely. Kill rbackup.exe and rbclient.exe via Task Manager (If running).

 

4.) Now go to Start -> Run and type 'regedit'. This will open the registry editor window. On the registry editor window, navigate to the path below:

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quantum Tech, Inc.\Remote Backup\Settings:

 

For 64-bit machine

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Quantum Tech, Inc.\Remote Backup\Settings:

 

On the right pane create a new String value as below:

 

"SetWindow" - REG_SZ - "False"

 

5.) Now Start the Endpoint and start the Copy to Disk backup.
