Unable to Log-in to Remote Backup Server (530)

This error is caused when the username or password or Account Group in the Endpoint software does not match an account on the Server.

It can also be caused if the drive containing the backups for an Endpoint goes offline or has a failure. This kind of error can show up for one Endpoint account and not another.

Error 530 can also be caused if the permissions for the backup folder are incorrect. Make sure if your Server is running as a service, the data drive has SYSTEM account access or by the account currently logged in.

Use the Endpoint's Administrator's Override function to make sure its credentials exactly match those of an account on the Server. Please note that case is sensitive. Username, Password, Account Group, and Command Port must match exactly.

To view Account Group in the Endpoint's Administrator's Override, place your cursor over the word "Server" in the label, "Backup Server URL" and left-click. Most Account Groups will look like this: 000001 - that's 5 zeros and a one.

If the Endpoint-side credentials exactly match the Server, delete the account from the Server, and answer NO when asked if you want to delete the data.

Then add a new user with EXACTLY the same credentials and account group.
